As an artist, storyteller, and designer, I always dreamed of publishing my own books. For years, I worked in painting, graphic design, and content creation—but I wanted more. I wanted to share my stories with the world, especially those that inspire children, spark imagination, and carry a message. That’s when I discovered Lulu Self-Publishing—a platform that helped turn my dream into a reality.
What is Lulu Self-Publishing?
Lulu is a global self-publishing platform that allows independent authors and creators to publish and sell books, eBooks, and even calendars or journals. Unlike traditional publishing, Lulu gives you full creative control—from designing your cover and formatting your content, to pricing and distributing your book.
Whether you're a new writer or an experienced author, Lulu offers tools and services to help you publish and share your work with readers around the world.
Why Lulu Matters to Me
Lulu empowers creators like me to share stories without the need for a traditional publisher. It gives full creative freedom, a wide global reach, and tools for both print and digital books. Best of all, I can design every element—from the cover art to the story layout—exactly how I imagine it.
Through Lulu, I published “Sophie’s Soups: Cooking with Heart”—a children’s cookbook that blends storytelling, creativity, and hands-on learning. And this is just the beginning! I plan to launch more inspiring books, journals, and design-based content in the coming months.

Final Thoughts
If you're a writer, designer, or dreamer with a story to tell, Lulu is a fantastic place to begin your publishing journey. It’s simple, flexible, and creator-friendly. I'm so glad I chose this path—and now, I hope my story inspires you too.
✨ Let’s make the world a little brighter, one story at a time.

How Does Lulu Work? Step-by-Step:
1. Create an Account:
I signed up for a free account at Lulu.com, which gave me access to their publishing dashboard.
2. Design the Book:
As a graphic designer, I created my own cover design using Canva and Photoshop. I uploaded my eBook content in PDF format, designed in DOCX, and formatted it to Lulu’s print specs. Size
Dimensions: at least
612 x 792 pixels (8.5” x 11” or 21.59 cm x 27.94 cm)
3.Choose a Format:
Lulu supports print books (paperback/hardcover), eBooks, and journals. I chose the eBook format first, with plans to expand into children’s storybooks and printable notebooks.
4 .Set Pricing & Distribution:
Lulu allows you to set your own price and offers options to distribute your book on other platforms like Amazon, Apple Books, and more.
5. Publish & Share:
Once published, Lulu provides a direct purchase link. I added this link to my website, Sheeba Mansion Library, and shared it across my social media to reach my readers.
